Is the JUGS MVP Pitching Machine Right For You?
As stated above, the JUGS MVP Pitching Machine is an entry level machine. It can throwing fastballs anywhere from 20-60 mph. You can even simulate a changeup by changing the speed in between pitches. This allow younger players practice off-speed pitches as they move through little league.
While this is one of JUGS most affordable options, it is still very high quality machine. No little league kids won’t benefit from being able to practice hitting consistent pitches at a wide range of speeds. If you are looking for a machine that will pitch strike after strike, this machine will get the job done.
Players looking to practice hitting break pitches, or will be in the near future, would benefit from a higher level machine. There are other one wheel pitching machines that can simulate curve balls, or two wheel pitching machines that can throw a wide variety of pitches.
Using the JUGS MVP Machine For Defensive Drills
The JUGS MVP Pitching Machine does have the ability to move up and down to throw grounders and pop flies. The easy to adjust side level allows you to quickly tighten and loosen the head to adjust placement.
While the MVP Pitchers Machine can throw pop-up and grounders, it does not have the 360 swivel heady will find on other JUGS Pitching Machines. This makes changing the location of where you throw balls for defense drills a little harder. Like the batting practice, it will work great for consistent repetition.

Types of Balls The MVP Machine Throws
The MVP Pitching Machine throws a variety of different balls. Unlike some of the other machines in this price range, the JUGS MVP Machine works well with real baseballs and softballs. The balls will wear down going through the pitching machine overtime, which is why we recommend using low seam leather pitching machine balls. You will get more use out of them than regular leather balls. It is always nice using leather balls, especially when out on the field.
Along with leather baseballs and softballs, the JUGS MVP Pitching Machine also throws sting free balls (both dimpled and seamed). The dimpled balls are excellent for batting practice because of their high durability. The machine also works with JUGS Lite Flight and SOFTIE Balls, and JUGS BULLDOG poly balls.

Whenever it comes time to purchase a new machine we always decide on the JUGS MVP Pitching Machine. Our little league has been using JUGS products for the last 25 years or longer and we haven’t seen a reason to go in a different direction. Their machines last a long time and provide great accuracy. A few other pitching machines I’ve used at other facilities don’t have the same accuracy as the MVP. Can’t go wrong with it.
