Heater Softball Pitching Machine

Reasons to Buy the Heater Softball Pitching Machine

Lowest Priced Softball Machine

The Heater Softball Pitching Machine is the lowest priced softball pitching machine on the market that throws real softballs. It will throw real 12” softballs. You can also pitch dimpled softballs, pitching machine softballs, and other practice softballs.

1/4 Horsepower Motor

A ¼ HP Motor allows for the machine to throw up to 50 MPH.

Carrying Handle

The carrying handle makes the machine easy to move from the backyard to the garage or on and off the field. We recommend you detach the legs before moving and carrying them separately (the legs are lightweight but make the machine bulky to move when connected).

Pitch Height Adjustment

The machine head is easy to tilt forwards and backwards. This allows you to change the ball placement for the next pitch in a matter of seconds.

Perfect for Fielding Exercises

The head of the machine tilts forwards to throw groundballs all over the infield. It can also tilt backwards to throw pop flies. The Heater Softball makes an excellent defensive training tool.

Works for Fast Pitch & Slow Pitch

You can utilize the machine for both fast pitch softball and slow pitch softball. The machine can be tilted backwards to throw perfect 15’ arced pitches.

Enclosed Wheel

With the Heater Softball Pitching Machine you never have to worry about getting your fingers stuck in the wheel. While most pitching machine have the wheel exposed, the Heater Softball has a fully enclosed wheel. A solid steel enclosure surrounds the wheel. The steel enclosure will not only protect the user and kids from the machine’s wheel but will also protect the wheel from line drives hit back at the machine.

Variable Speed Control Dial

Heater’s Softball Machine throws speeds up to 50 MPH. The speed dial allows you to adjust the speed of the machine between 0 and 50 MPH. The dial is marked 0 through 10. We have the different speed settings marked below.

Durable Rubber Wheel

Heater equips the softball machine with an 8” rubber wheel. The rubber wheel is throws accurate pitches and withstand the wear and tear you will put it through.

Galvanized Steel Legs

Heater includes tripod legs that they make with galvanized steel. The galvanized steel ensures the longevity of the pitching machine, preventing it from damage on comeback line drives.

Rubber Casings on "Feet"

Rubber casings on the bottom of the “feet” of the pitching machine will provide further stability on most surfaces.

Built-in Machine Harness

A built-in machine harness allows you to pair up the pitching machine with any of Heater’s Batting Cages. You will attach the machine to the outside of the batting cage, which protects the machine and the adult feeding the machine.

Heater Ball Feeder Details

Comes Standard

The Heater Softball comes standard with the automatic ball feeder. It holds up to eight 12” softballs. There is an option to remove the ball feeder to save $50.

Steel Frame Construction

Most of the pitching is made with steel construction to ensure the longevity of the pitching machine and the ball feeder is no exception.

Easy Connection

The feeder will connect to the ball chute. It is a quick process and will take around 15-30 seconds before you are ready to start firing pitches.

Pitches every 9 Seconds

When the ball feeder is turned on it will throw a pitch every 9 seconds. The feeder is easy to turn off if you would like to give the batter instruction between pitches.

Compact & Lightweight

We recommend removing the feeder from the machine before transporting. The feeder is lightweight allowing a kid to easily carry it.

Solo Batting Practice

If you are looking to get some solo practice swings in on the field or in the backyard, then the automatic ball feeder will come in handy. Without the ball feeder you will need a 2nd person to feed the machine.

Heater Softball Pitching Machine FAQ

Q: Can the machine pitch 11” softballs?
A: Yes, the machine can pitch 11” softballs, however, not as accurately as 12” softballs. The machine is designed to be the perfect size for 12” softballs. 11” softballs will fit through the machine, but the machine will not get the same grasp on the ball as it does the 12” since the 11” softballs are smaller. This will possibly result in less accurate pitches.
Q: What age groups use the 11” softballs and 12” softballs?
A: The 11” softballs are typically used by younger girls. Most little leagues for kids under 10 years old use 11” softballs. The 10-13 age group is typically a mix between 11” and 12” softballs. Once the girls hit middle school, high school, and collegiate ball it is exclusively a 12” softball. Men’s softball leagues primarily use 12” softballs as well.
Q: Does the pitching machine throw baseballs?
A: No, the Heater Softball is designed to throw softballs only. If you are looking for a machine to throw both baseballs and softballs, the Heater Combo is a great option. There are also plenty of baseball only options (i.e., Heater BaseHit, Heater Real, and Heater Pro Curve).
Q: Can you use the machine for slow pitch softball?
A: Yes, the machine tilts backwards to throw perfect arced pitches. Many slow pitch softball teams utilize the Heater Softball as an affordable training tool.
Q: Can you use the Heater Softball for fielding exercises?
A: Yes, the machine head tilts forwards and backwards, allowing it to be used for ground balls, pop flies, and line drives.
Q: Is there a pitching machine cover that works with the machine?
A: Heater does not offer their own cover. A tarp or grill cover works great to protect your machine from the elements.
Q: Is there a battery or generator designed for the machine?
A: There are no batteries designed to be used with the machine. We recommend using a 600-watt (or greater) generator. The generator will allow you to use your pitching machine anywhere you go. You can find a generator for a  pitching machine at your local appliance store.
