Pitch Pro 486 Pitching Mound
Pitch Pro 465, 486, or 796 Pitching Mound?
We have a lot of customers call us looking for answers on which pitching mound they should buy. Answers are different on a case to case basis. All three pitching mounds provide a different need.
The Pitch Pro 465 is the cheapest of the three portable mounds and that is because it is the smallest. Little leagues tend to purchase the 465 for their younger age brackets. For the younger athletes, coaches are looking for a 6″ high mound that won’t break the bank. The provides a high-quality, durable pitching mound at a great price.
The Pitch Pro 486 Pitching Mound is the next step. It is the go-to pitching mound for tournament directors and little leagues divisions in the 10-12 age group. Unlike the 465 Pitching Mound, the 486 is a full-length mound. This means that the pitcher will finish their stride on the mound.
Finally, the Pitch Pro 796 is the largest and most expensive option. If you have the money to spend, it is a great pitching mound. The 796 is over a foot longer than the 486 and much wider. The extra width allows for pitchers to perform pick0ff moves easier.

Steve –
I bought the 486 mound for our little league 5 years ago and it is still working like new. The turf needs the occasional patch job but the core of the mound looks like it was bought yesterday. Great pitchers mound, highly recommend.
